Chris Strei will be gracing The Carmel Fine Art & Music Festival Stage Saturday September 16th, 2:30PM-3:15PM

Chris Strei (pronounced ‘stray’) has been observing and studying music since adolescence, well before he chose to pursue music professionally. In 2010, this led him to attend Recording Arts Canada in Toronto to study audio engineering and release 3 projects, written and produced by himself, after graduating in 2011. With no family roots in music, it’s tough to say where his passion comes from, it’s just always been there. Butch Walker, Chris Strapleton, Johnny Cash, and Tom Petty’s influence can be heard in his original work, but his love for music of all genres has always been the biggest influence on his writing style. This has led him to appeal to music fans of all genres, and the opportunities, as a performer, of opening for The Trews and playing at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Chris is truly at home when he’s got a guitar in his hands and keeps a close connection to his roots as a music fan by also including a mix of his favourite artists in his list of songs at most performances. To broaden his search of these performance opportunities,

Chris is also a member of the NSAI, SAC, and CMAO.

Chris Strei has just returned to Ontario from his BlackBird Tour, across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, to promote “BlackBird”, a follow up album to his 2017 self-titled EP, which is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.
